Greetings,
One issue I have on Hurd (but not on Linux) is the following error:
$ sudo LC_ALL=C nice --20 chmod -R u+w /home/perkelix
nice: cannot set niceness: Permission denied
Doesn't Hurd support the 'nice' command or what am I missing?
Thanks!

Greetings,
I cannot help but notice that the Hurd port still depends on 'ntpdate'
to sync its clock upon bootup. The key problem is that Debian has
migrated to 'src:ntpsec' which made 'bin:ntpdate' a transitional
package. However, 'rdate' seemingly has been ported to Hurd. Assuming
that it is
Greetings,
I was wondering if anybody ever tried to port ntpsec to Hurd? It
currently fails early during the build with an explicit error message
that claims Hurd lacks some specific system calls, but doesn't specify
which.

Another question related to Debian GNU/Hurd:
ACPI support. I noticed during bootup that an ACPI server is launched,
but issuing "exec sudo poweroff" merely halts the system; it doesn't
send an ACPI poweroff at the end of the shutdown process.
Is there any

Greetings,
The Hurd kernel in unstable wants a GRUB version higher than
2.06-13+hurd.2 yet neither unstable or experimental have that. Where
can I find it?
Thanks!

Greetings,
Having found an old Pentium, I downloaded the ISO at
(/cdimage/ports/12.0/hurd-i386) and installed. The installer failed
to configure the keyboard, which shows with incorrect symbols when
typing in my user name at account creation. Following reboot,
'dpkg-reconfigure
Greetings,
As dhcpcd is slated to replace dhclient as the default DHCP client in
Debian, I've been trying to fix the build on Hurd, which is the only
architecture that has repeatedly FTBFS. Most of this has merely
required fixing missing includes so far.
Help is welcome, especially from people

Would you have a patch I could test on Debian and later submit to upstream?
