Can you post your /etc/apt/so
igure thunderbird/balsa, but cannot get kmail up and
running, kmail does *not* work well. Same, if KMail cannot deal with
servers that thunderbird/balsa can.

session. BTW, sudo is the wrong choice in any case. Consider using
gksudo which will prompt you for your password if needed.
