Sorry, I forget to say, that of course DRI is/was working without
errors. The log says:

(0): [drm] installed DRM signal handler
(0): [DRI] installation complete
(II) MGA(0): direct rendering enabled
(...)
in every 4.0.1-[1-8].

GL performance with this build and my Matrox G400. In comparsion with
