Yes I miss. But I think that wasn't just a decision of rhythmbox, but
rather of gnome. Almost all current applications use similar interface
so it'd be hard to fix that.

I tested gthumb today on Lucid beta 2 with all updates installed. This
bug is still there. My CompactFlash card carried some *.AVI files.
Trying the same with an SmartMedia card without any video files
succeeded.
Did the same strace as Stephen did. But on my Lucid system the file
I was affected by this bug, and I can confirm that on the remote machine
the ~/.dbus directory was owned by root. By changing the owner to
myself the problem is solved.
For some reason some people got the ~/.dbus ownership unwillingly
changed, can't tell in which package, but this is certainly a

I recently upgraded to Lucid Lynx 10.04 32 bit from 9.10. The Gnome
Desktop now displays all windows without the banner bar or borders of
any kind. I cannot resize or move the windows.

I have been following this post for some time.
I have installed Debian Lenny and started using that as a primary system
and the Ubuntu system I have I tinker with.
Call me a rebel or such.. but I have noticed differences on how the
systems' (Ubuntu and Debian) handle file transfers.

Fixed it. Saved a .svg file in Inkscape's format to home. For some
reason Nautilus could not recognize it. mc could not find it. It made
Tunar crash. So I rm'ed it in terminal. All is well. (I have no idea how
to report this bug to Inkscape devs. Sigh.)
