My computer has been closed for about a week while I moved. Now I am trying
to access my OpenOffice documents and they will not open. A blue circle
spins for a moment and then disappears. The system is Windows 8. I tried to

There are two buttons marked Reopen and Don't Reopen, but neither of them

http://openoffice.org second try to delete or backup our AppData
folder located here:
c:\\Users\\Application Data\Apache OpenOffice\
Remove this folder either by zipping it for later, or just throw it on
the recycle bin, and restart OpenOffic
Sorry but the mailing list prevent from images to show, you could use
sites like imgur.com to post the image.
My recomendation is to update to the latest OpenOffice from our
website. Currently 4.1.1 is the most recent version.
Second would be to install the Spellchecker from our extension website
