FF3 display's the images description before loading them. Which makes the
layout look a bit messy. But yes, that's normal.

I should have been more specific: Linux Ubuntu! Save your money and buy
a nice Intel Box and run Ubuntu. This way
Yes it's normal (whether it's desirable or not is another matter!). The
text displayed is (I believe) the alt-text for the image which is set
for browsers which don't display images. Once the image is loaded the
browser replaces it. It does look a mess in the meantime though...
