It worked for my in Ubuntu 13.04, but not in 13.10, updated up to
2013-09-29. It can't also search in the configuration menu, so I can't
suspend, log off, restart, shutdown... etc from the HUD as I used to do
in 13.04.

This sounds a lot like bug 772972, but I'm seeing it in saucy.
If you maximize a gnome-temrinal and then un-maximize it, it will shrink
by a full column and row.
* run 'gnome-terminal'
* click the maximize button (or keybinding 'maximize')
* click the unmaximize button
I see this when I close the lid or select Suspend from the session menu, but
not if I suspend via the hotkey (Fn F4 on my laptop).
As in comment #4 I also see it if I have it set to Do Nothing on lid close.

I can confirm this behavior and the initial black behind the Dash is due
to the fact that OpenGL 1.4 is being forced as the workaround for the
poor performance for Mesa 9.2. Why it takes changing the background to
get the correct blurring still needs to be investigated.

I'm using 12.04 Unity 5.20.
When I insert an audio CD, I get the dialog window asking me what I want
to do. If I close or cancel that dialog window, then the CD icon
disappears from the launcher.
This only happens with audio CD's. If I insert a data CD then the icon
stays in the launcher because
