The confusion continues. I'll save W4TV the effort of respo
"USB to parallel" adapters are not port mapped devices and as such
they will not work with software like DX4Win that use direct port
writes. Unless you are using a laptop with no expansion bus, your
best solution is an add-on serial/parallel card for either PCI or
PCIe bus.

There are many USB to parallel cables on eBay. Most of them work OK. HOWEVER:
with most laptops some printers have problem printing as the laptop USB current
