This problem has been resolved. I was able to identify a poor solder
joint on the bar graph IC. Reflowing the joint solved the problem.

It sounds to me like you have an RF Gain Control that is worn.
Sine it has been out of service for a while, you might be able to
restore it by rotating the RF Gain knob through its rotation 10 to 20 times.
If that does not correct it, then replacing the control is the only option.

My K2 has been out of service for an extended period. Today, I put it back
on the air and it appears to function properly, except for the bar graph
display which is erratic. When I rotate the rf gain control counter
clockwise segments begin to illuminate until the 3rd is illuminated. As i
