Hi all,
it's since last saturday (sept. 8th) that I am receiving very few
messages from the list, in comparison with the usual flow.
I was suspecting that my ISP set up some kind of anti-spam filter,
but in that case I would have received nothing at all... instead,
I received two messages
Hey Paolo,
I think we've just been kind of quiet lately.

good news or happy endings. It also helps boost the list since we
are usually hearing bad news and struggles with our sick ones.

Testing kittens for FeLV is probably a good idea,
if they test positive you will want to keep them away from your own cat just to
be safe. If they test positiveI would probably have them
retestedretested in 60 - 90 days.
Testing kittens for FIV is a total waste of time
and money. They
Please do see a vet as soon as you can...it's possible that she could
have lymphoma if her breathing is affected. Our Ewok had similar
symptoms, difficulty breathing when resting and a phantom
hairball...almost like an asthma attack. We found out that he does
have a tumor in his chest and

Please, take your cat in if you can. As I am sure you know, the
anemia sets in it seems overnight. Our Stinky cat is back in
hospital. Her red cell count is down to 13 and that happened from Saturday
(Saturday her count was 27) until today. Monday and Tuesday she was eating

That is WONDERFUL NEWS
Although I am in Pa.,, I did write offer to take one or two of the
seniors (My soft spot ~ the geriatrics.) Since I lost Big Al, 21,
Felix, 19, my oldest now is 17.
So many times these poor seniors end up in shelters are euthanized
"just cause they're old..
I have not been following this thread until the last message about Stinky,
but dexamethasone and depomedrol shots can sometimes reverse anemia (if it is
from an auto-immune reaction or lymphoma) at least temporarily.

Thank you very much.I
have been giving Richmond interferon for about 1 month now...The vet said
to give it to her 7 days on and 7 days offshe is now on her off days.I
have also read that you should give this to your cat everyday...without any
days offDo you know anything
Also, I sent 4 emails a while ago with attached scanned pages of an article
on Immuno-regulin, and got an email saying they needed to be approved. Did those
go through? I do not remember getting them as part of the list.
Michelle
Our vets have Stinky on Interferon everyday, once a day, 1 Ml doses.
I don't know if that is best or not however.
He'd sit up and start the kinda (sorry for the gross description)
sneezy-hocking thing...it would go on for several seconds and he'd
finish with kind of a dry-heave...my biggest concern, however, was
that his breathing was a little labored when he was at rest and, most
noticably, he was
Thanks youMy kitty is acting okay, except for coughing, everytime I pick
her up and put her back down, she starts coughing like she is trying to
cough up a hair ball, but nothing is coming up that I can see..How long do
hair ball usually take to cough up? Lisa

Dear List,
I know this is a bit OT for the list, but since so many of you have
LOVE your ferals I thought you might be intersted.
Alley Cat Allies has announced that Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 will be "National
Feral Cats Day", (NFCD)
There will be many special events, spay/neuter-athons
LOL, funny you should mention ferals... I "released" my feral rescue 3 days
ago by opening a window so he could come and go as he pleases, and he hasn't
gone outside yet. I have feral cat that prefers to be INDOORS. Go figure.
