To those of you who paused in their lives to look at my problem, "creating
MP3 files", thank you, very much. The problem was solved when I ticked the
'Midi' play back ,instead of 'Vst' playback, under the 'Midi/Audio' menu.
This in turn allowed the 'Save as Audio' box with the necessary radio

You're right. I was misled because the "export to audio file" option
opens the "save audio file as" dialog box, at least on my installation.
At the bottom of the save audio file as dialog box there are two radio
butt

You said you were on WinFin2009b. The process there is File | Export to
Audio File.
