Dear Alexander Hansen -
Thank you kindly for your response. The command
sudo fink install openjade
leads to several warnings about, e.g.:
warning: "SP_DEFINE_TEMPLATES" redefined
warning: this is the location of the previous definition
etc. I'm not sure if these are significant or not. T
I've also tested the patch on 10.4/PPC, 10.5/PPC and 10.5/i386,
and updated finkinfos. Thanks for your report.

Help?
For the last 5 years, my students and I at UCSD have used fink to
install a lot of software that we need frequently on our macs.
We have been quite pleased with the capabilities that fink enables.
There has been one persistent bug over the last few weeks that we
can't seem to resolve. After

With the patch, it builds OK.

Building texlive-0.20080816-1 fails on 10.6/64bit with the error message
gcc -g -O2 -I/sw_x86_64/lib/freetype219/include/freetype2
-I/sw_x
I've fixed PatchFile-MD5 in libkpathsea4.info. Thanks.

This is the reason why it breaks. On 10.6, the configure script gets the
weird idea that the path separator is ';' instead of ':'. It has a funny
test for this, and this test behaves differently on 10.5 and on 10.6. It
is the line
PATH=".;."; conftest.sh
Oops, I guess Martin already pointed that out.

Hello Alexander!
Apparently the output of config.log is not particularly helpful:
config.log
Description: Binary data
so I put a "set -x" into configure (see output below)
It seems to me as if the following code was just broken; the for loop
doesn't tokenize the ':'-seperated $PATH.
