I have a legacy client that was running fine on XP with FB 1.5 but we've
recently switched the PC out for a Win7 Pro 64 bit system.
In order to get the client running on the Win7 system I installed FB 2.5 on it
and used gbak on the new system to restore the database file as a 2.5 version

I didn't use the -TRANSPORTABLE switch when I created the backup file on the
1.5 system Could this have something to do with the error ?

I was able to resolve the issue overnight. I first backed up the 1.5 fdb file
with gbak, then installed FB 2.5 on the WIN7 system and used gbak to restore
and convert the fdb file it to a 2.5 version. This works
I don't know if this is Firebird or a BDE issue but I am trying to port a
legacy client that runs on FB 1.5 from an XP system to a WIN7 (64 bit) system.
I was able to install FB 1.56, the client software with its fdb onto the WIN7
system. I also had to install BDE 5.01 since that is what the
