I will demonstrate various techniques for marker management (that apply to
all versions of FM, as well some FM12 examples which use regular
expressions) in my Form Assistant webinar next week (Wednesday, Feb. 5, 10am
PST),

Hi Framers,
I discovered a bug with the newly released FrameMaker 12. If you Find/Change
with Regular Expressions checked, any literal replacement text is always
inserted as Times New Roman 12 point, regardless of the paragraph it is in.
This is a pretty serious bug.

A graphic and the frame that contains a graphic are separate entities with
separate properties and separate sets of possible operations. A frame can be
positioned relative to the page, in a fixed relation to an anchor in the text

Hey, Max, do the Esc shortcuts still work? Sometime around FM9, some of
them (some of the table cursor movement ones) stopped working. I wish that
could be fixed, too, and expanded to add the new features and commands.
They're VERY useful for fast access to a lot of the submenus.

It sounds very much to me like the font vendor is a bit clueless and has
something set wrong on the software he's using to make the font.
The fact that " that he never had encountered this problem before" does not
affect your statutory consumer rights, as they say.

Mike,
You are correct. That was my post. The point I was making was that if you
subscribe for 2 years (no SW maintenance fees required) you are bound to get
another release.
Regardless of how much someone may "just not like" FrameMaker 12, it would be
difficult to accept this as a minor releas
FrameMaker is a 32-bit application. Using 64-bit Windows would just
increase the number of things that could go wrong.

David,
Those commands should work. You might also try the shortcuts Control-M for para
designer and Control-D for character designer. Check to see which workspace you
are using.
Make sure that you did not use Edit->Preferences and change your user interface

Frame 12 is a 32-bit application but seems to run fine under 64-bit Windows 8.0.

This has probably been asked before, but how do I get my hands on the
SysbBold font for Framemaker 10 (Win XP) that's being identified as
SysbBold Type 1 in Acrobat X's object inspector?

Hi Tammy,
to check your problem I had to buy one font style, I choose the "Breuer
Text regular" font.
Now, after checking the font info, it is clearly a mistake in the font
definition. Although the style name is "Regular", the font weight is set
to "medium".
If this is a problem, you shoul

I don't buy that at all. DITA has major costs that are not offset
unless you have substantial opportunities for reuse and publish in
multiple languages.
There's no rational reason to spend money on low-value upgrades. Do a

This cell padding idea worked ok to accomplish what I need. But I had to
set top at 3pt and bottom at 2pt, anything less caused the bars to rejoin
as one. I tried to compensate for the added vertical growth by adjusting
line spacing and font size, but couldn't exactly match the rows per page
