Hello:
First off, I would like to commend the work done by everyone at
freeradius.org: I've had success building, configuring, and using
freeradius 0.81beta on my Solaris 8 (sparc) server. Things went fairly
straightforward as I read the documentation, comments, and FAQs.

Alan,
I thought I'd make this a new e-mail as my last one is too far back in
the list for anyone to notice... But this is a continuation of my last
post.
I have implimented the change to the "users" file and was able to get a
little further in the authentication process. However, I am still

Add a program to the rlm_counter directory which reads the DB file,
and prints out the information in it.

A trick I learned recently...since the pacticular machine I was on is
tied into the ldap server for uid & gid..
$> getent group | egrep foofoo | cut -f3 -d:
This would return all groups which the user foofoo belongs to.
There is a more elegant way to do it in a perl script:
sub get_gidnumber
{
I am using the db.counter for keeping track on monthly time limits, however,
I was curious if there were any tools to access the contents of that file.
I need to see how much time a user has currently used to verify if my dialup
vendor is accurately tracking my usage. Thanks.

Does anyone out
there have any good scripts that will output to html for viewing the radius
errors. For example, a web page that would only show users that were
denied auth due to a bad user/pass
combination?
I need some help please…
Anyone ever use a LDAP
query to extract the users group from the LDAP database?
Not sure how to set up
the radiusd.conf file to use the %GroupName. I want to query
The user and find what
group they are in…
groupname_attribute =
"(cn=%GroupName)"
sorry about that...
what do i need to do in order to make it work with sybase
do i need libraries?

I'm still banging my head against brick wall so comments on the following
would be appreciated.
No request-determined auth-type works for me right now, but one thing at a
time, so I've focused on MS-CHAP first.
This is a Redhat-7.3-i386 system with freeradius-0.8.1 and openldap-2.0.23.

When I use radwho on FreeRadius-0.8.1, it show nothing on the screen.
I find that the file 'radutmp' does not exist after starting radius up.
The log below shows that radius seems to have loaded radutmp.
Radius run perfectly ok but the utility 'radwho' seems not work.
What can I do ?
Best Regard.

Hello, when I try to compile freeradius, it show:

creating rlm_unix.la
(cd .libs && rm -f rlm_unix.la && ln -s ../rlm_unix.la rlm_unix.la)

sounds more logical to me :)) as long as you have some authorization

Dear Rafa Marнn Lуpez,
Sure. Read doc/coding-methods, doc/module_interface, src/modules/stable,
src/include/modules.h and see sources for other modules.
