well that is quite easy to hack, unless you encrypt the sounds in the exe.
there is a resource hacking program, which coincidently i use for changing
the version information for the programs i make which can retrieve sounds
out of exes and dlls.

Hi,
Also there is another way to secure sound effects and it is about as
full proof as it gets. In Visual C++ you can clude your effects as a
resource, and compile it directly in to the *.exe file. It pretty much
insures no one will get at them. You can also build them in to a *.dll

Hi,
That is correct. If a game company is encrypting there files in a file
then they generally don't want you copying, changing, or doing things
with the game files. Cracking the files can get you in hot water with
the company in question.
I as a developer know what Draconis was using for it's o
it is an interesting topic though. if people do want to encrypt their sounds
they all do it in different ways. some people use comaudio to do all the
dirty work, some people use other external software, and then there are
those that try and disguise them by changing a .zip filename to .dat or

if the developer has encrypted any files in their products it's because they
don't want them tampered with. usually if a game dev wants to allow sounds
to be changed they don't encrypt the sounds, but sometimes even if the
sounds are decrypted it's because a dev doesn't know how to.
so i doubt you
Hi,
Ahemm... Yeah, it is possible, and there are tools that could do it, but
I would be compromising ESPs security by allowing you to know the
secrets of how they pack and unpack the *.esp files.

Hi,
End user problems with the .NET Framework 1.1 is the major reason all

Hello.
the discussion of Rale racer yesterday prompted me to go and have another look

refused to work, but also caused huge problems at start up, which i could only
fix with a system restore.

Hi Dark,
the builds of Tom's games he currently offers for download on his site are
designated to run with .Net Framework 1.1, and the installer looks for this
version and no other. HOwever, he is already working on new releases that
will support the 2.0 branch of the framework.
Hope this helps.
If you actually talked to the parrot you shouldn't have any problems. I know
from experience that if you play the right notes before listening to the
parrot it doesn't work, but why you're having problems I don't know. If all
else fails you could just press F5 which is the universal cheat, but I
