Hi,
We freeze store muscle bx's brain tissue at -70°C since the neuro lab was
started (around 1980). We started using cryogenic containers after we found
that over time the tissue would dry out with any other type of storage we
have tried them all.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
Is there is a standard used for small biopsy Microtomy? I am wondering
how other sites cut their biopsies (ie the number of sections per slide
and the amount of roughing in between sections)? I am also curious
about the number of slides per biopsy.
Thanks for your help,

Hi,
I was reading your email of Jan. 15/09 on the subject of Prion
Contamination. In it you had made the following statement, which I was
curious as to where this information had come from.
the procedure to inactivate using formic acid is followed before
fixation and processing. If the tissue is
muscle an abnormal muscle stained with this
method it would be very helpful.
Thanks for any help,

Having never seen a positive slide I nor the Neuropathologist know for
sure what we are to be seeing. Does anyone have a picture of a slide
they would be willing to share with us.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
