almost every computer for the past few years has better resolution than new tvs even the personal ones 1080p simply means the vertical res is 1080 lines. any monitor that does 1600x1200 will top that that was just sales talk - thanks for the input! it did sound like sales talk to me...

Jim, I've tried the new iMac at the Apple store --there's one 3 blocks from my place. IMHO, they should place the machines a little higher, so you can try the machines at a more natural angle, not to mention a more ergonomic one. (Providing seats is out of the question: the store is too small
