Christoper, i think, that NOT VirtualBox is the problem/bug.
It seems that the kernel and/or other circumstances trigger the bug.
VirtualBox itself works flawless and as expected.
The massive operations on my LVM2 in combination of ext4 is for me the
problem...

bug #1262752 should be fixed in the nvidia-304 in precise-proposed.
As for nvidia-prime, that change makes sense in 14.04, where nvidia-
prime is recommended by nvidia-$flavour. The same doesn't apply to 12.04
though, where only Jockey installs nvidia-prime on systems with 2 GPUs.

Okay, I have tested several more versions back, and I can confirm the
bug is present all the way back to at least the 3.8.9-Raring version
(3.8.8-Raring is where I begin to run into problems like those described
in Comment #20, and the stylus stops working altogether).

As I understand this X can understand up to 255 only and XEV only shows
up to 255 and that is ONLY the core of a keyboard with XEV and NOT the
multi media buttons of which are above 255 on MOST keyboards.
This is a HUGE problem and the best direction I can see to go
OTHER than hack work
On 3.13rc6, It could be resumed normally with nomodeset added into grub.
