Hi I am unable to downgrade kernels since i am running a server on it as
well. I tried the speakers on windows machine and they seem to be
working finw...ran them for a couple of days and there was no popping or
sound crackling issues so its definitely not the speakers.

Sound cuts off and back on randomly during online streaming
hdajackretask did not help. Going to remove it now. Any other things i
should try ? This wasnt a problem in 18.04 but in 20.04 it is
irritating.

Of note is that for /etc/pulse/daemon.conf , the following changes must
be made (with your preferred text editor):
(a). For 5.1 channel sound, set: default-sample-channels

Sound shuts off and turns back on again with two pop clicks. When the
sound is off, if i turn up the volume to the max, i can hear crackling
sound in speakers in tune with sound playing on the computer.
Problem
The popping and random time delay sound like a hardware/motherboard
fault. But please also check your speaker connections, and try different
speakers/different jacks if you can.
