You could ask the programmers to add these Search and Replace items to
the Search Find items via the Legacy Home tab Suggest a new feature.

Think for a moment. The straight
Correct, but there could be a Search feature like the Search and
Replace without the Replace part and there could be a list of places
that have the text someone is searching for in notes.

Yes, I know.
It's up to the programmers how they implement things. A user can ask
for a feature.
At the moment the Search Find also has marriages with marriage
notes, why not add locations with location note fields etc? I don't
know if this is possible and I don't have to know (I'm not a
They are all necessary parts of your main .FDB file. Do not delete any of
them.
The LDB file is only there when the Family File is open in Legacy or Legacy
Charting.
Thanks for using Legacy.

What are the circumstances that cause you to want to save these files?
Looks like they are all related to your database. A much easier way would
be to create a backup of the database and then save the zipped file that
creates. You will have all the files you need automagically backed up.

Of course.

I have a location Phoenix, Maricopa, Arizona, USA in my data file.
When i click on this location in the Master List for Location, the map
shows Philadelphia, PA. If I remove the county Maricopa from the name,
then it correctly displays Phoenix on the map. Do we have a bug?

I just entered the location exactly as you showed it and it landed spot on
for me. Highlight the location in the Master Location List and click on
Geo-code Geo-code current location again

Perhaps, but whether it may be in Legacy or VE I have no idea. If Maricopa isn't
a current county then it won't show. There can be instances where the incorrect
location is selected, often because a name is to be found in more than one
location.
When that happens it is not difficult to move
With respect, Boyd. it has and the answer was No, you cannot search them in the
way you suggest.
The subsequent discussion was concerned whether Legacy could and/or should do
anything about it.
Biirths, marriages and deaths *are* events and a location is always attached to
an event of one
Misspelling is a common reason for these things not to work, Maricopa
is a current co but I have learned the hard way G that between
spelling or typing I get the town or county wrong a good bit.

Hi
Thanks to all who answered my first question about divorce protocol, and now
another question.
My sons divorce is proceeding. No children involved. Now then, if I print
out, say a descendent report, all the marriage notes, his soon to be ex's
notes, events etc. will of course print out.
You can mark individual Events as Private and they won't print. You can
put [[ ]] around Notes to make them private. (Also choose this in Report
options.) Pictures I'm not sure about. It might be easier to delete them.
