Hi Keith, I run WinXP in a Parallels 4 virtual machine, Legacy works just fine this way. I don't know much about VMware, I tried a demo copy years back and didn't like it. A virtual machine would give you the security you want while using your copy of WinXP. Based on the following post by Sherry

Multiple versions of Legacy can coexist on the same "computer" so long as each copy/version is installed in its own folder. There will be a problem with the Windows Registry entry however.
