Firewire works great. We use an Iomega Peerless (only 20 GB) and it transfers at 15 MB per second. As to USB, you will want USB 2 for similiar speed. The only problem I have had with firewire disks on Linux is getting an sbp2 device driver that loads ok. I have also had trouble if the firewire

I find the 4 drive limitation of IDE machines quite bothersome. Is there some way, other than scsi, to overcome this limitation in the linux world? Is setting up a scsi system just a matter of installing a scsi adaptor and then plugging things in (along with the appropriate drivers)? Is it worth
