Just had a white-winged dove land near the bird feeders at our cabin near

This afternoon 5/25, Ben Fritchman, Dave Grosshuesch, John Hokema and I found a
White-winged Dove in Two Harbors along 1st Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Street.
This is
only the second Lake County record I'm aware of.
We also saw a Grasshopper Sparrow and Western Meadowlark in the grassy area
I have possible sad news to report on the White-winged Dove, just in case
this affects the decisions of other birders who have contacted me about
visiting.
To the best of my knowledge, the bird was last spotted at our feeders
yesterday (Thursday) afternoon around 4:30 pm. I wasn't around much,
I went to Grand Rapids (La Prairie) on Tuesday after reading Shawn's last
post. I got there just in time to be almost swept away by the torrential rains
that came. From 5:30 -8:30 I sat at Shawn's fighting the mosquito's and rain.
I saw one fly by, a landing with the wings and tail spread out
I've had a few people contact me about the timing of the dove. The last
visits we have noticed were 6:30 - 7:30 pm yesterday, 8:00 am, 10:30 am,
and just now at 3:00 pm today (it is currently feeding out there).
Previous visits were in the early morning and late afternoon, so it seems
like any
This morning, a White-winged Dove briefly visited my feeders near Grand
Rapids. I was able to snap a documentation photo of the bird, but
unfortunately it was a film camera because my digital was out in the car
and I couldn't get it without flushing the dove. I suspect this bird may

Greetings:
Dave Bartkey and I were fortunate in getting to see the White-winged Dove

A first county record White-winged Dove is coming to the feeder of Warren
Wegener, 13304 Oakland Dr, Burnsville, MN. The best time to see this bird is
around 8 am, but it comes to the feeder several times a day. The feeder is in
the back yard, so the only viewing is from inside the house.
Extensive searching throughout the day by multiple parties failed to
refind the White-winged Dove at the 40th Ave West/Erie Pier area in
Duluth, including an unsuccessful search by yours truly between 8:30
and 9:30 AM, but at 5:35 PM this afternoon (Thursday, 8 October) the
dove was seen

Thanks to Peder Svingen for passing along word of the White-winged
