Somehow I seem to have lost the permissions on my primary account
pa...@workdellgx620:~$ pfexec pkg image-update
pkg: Could not operate on /var/pkg/lock
because of insufficient permissions. Please try the command again using pfexec
or otherwise increase your privileges.

Paul,
Check if you're still assigned the Primary Administrator profile by
looking in /etc/user_attr. For example, here's my entry:
bleon...@opensolaris:/etc/security$ cat /etc/user_attr | grep bleonard
bleonardtype=normal;roles=root;profiles=Primary
Ooops!
pa...@workdellgx620:~$ grep paulj /etc/user_attr
pauljtype=normal;profiles=Postgres Administration;roles=postgres
pa...@workdellgx620:~$
Cheers Paul

Reboot into an older beadm, remove broken one, run pkg image-update.
Thanks to everyone who is working on OpenSolaris it's brilliant !
IMHO Paul
