Most people would be aware of the Southeby's
auction at the weekend of 100 seedlings of the rare Wollemi Pine. The 100
seedlings sold for a total of $1,059,000 AUD. These plants are considered
ancient, rare, threatened and unique but how do they measure up against orchids.

1) "To get them going (after a shipment has been received), I plant them in
sphagnum for six months, then into a fine to medium bark mix with
considerable cinder rock. ... it seems to do better in a fairly fine mix in
pots."

Rudolf Jenny just published a new survey of the genus in Caesiana 20 (2003). This came out this summer. His new checklist of species runs from pp 25-33, and oddly enough, there are more single line entries (35) for Gga.
Can anyone give me cultural recommendations for this species? I assume I will mount it on tree fern.
