The birds around here are making themselves scarce, except for the finches
at my thistle feeder and the sparrows who gather beneath to grab the seeds
that fall to the snow. I did get a beautiful solitary male cardinal for a
few minutes yesterday, which is the subject of

roll in the snow with him! We are wet, wet, wet, but still warm. The
garden bird life is unbelievable.
