fyi- I use the kindle app for viewing kindle books in chromium
Is there a way to download codeacadamey's writings (probably with wget -r)
and then convert it to something kindle can read? I suppose a better
question would be can I convert from one format to one kindle can read?

video to extract the audio (I suppose that means it actually is for
ffmpeg). How does one figure out the format of the original file if it
isn't listed in the file extension?
