If you can download the file in the background the FileViewer plugin might

For a number of weeks now I've been using a plugin at home that I put
together to control my Denon A/V receiver through SqueezeCenter. It's
called DenonSerial because the focus is the lower-end "CI" Denon amps
that offer RS232 serial ports for control (the more expensive Denon amps

I want to say Thank You! to bpa for this excellent plugin for NPR. I
just discovered it today on this forum. I have been searching for a way
to listen to NPR in this manner for quite a long time with no success.
It works very well and integrates seamlessly with SC. Thanks again.

The app uses the CLI port and the web port so make sure the CLI port is
open. I believe this is usually port 9000.

That's very good about cdda2wav handling /dev/sg18 - it looks like just

I'll need to look at the code in more detail to see what can be done - I
think the "no CD in drive" may be coming from cdda2wav. I suspect what
you have defined as the cdrom devices as expected by cdda2wav maybe
wrong.

Looks like the change was not entered properly or SC was not restarted.
The change should make the cdromstatus routine return at line 1029
which means line 1036 should never be executed but the error message you

Looks promising - I don;t know about USb bus attached drives - so this
is unknown.
I think the following may work but it is a paper exercise so there may
be other changes needed. Also when testing turn on logging for
plugin.cdplayer - set to DEBUG.
In the file CDhandler.pm file - there is the f

You don't need to remember the WMA URLs. The WMA URLs are the stream
defined in BBC under Internet Radio/More Radio / BBC.
BBC have said they will keep RealAudio and WMA URLs as well as the new
iPLayer Flash MP3/AAC ones.

Anything is possible but it may need changes to the plugin if the
hardware is non standard.
The Plugin expects a Linux support device /dev/cdrom - if there isn't
one then the CD detection has to be removed which is not too serious as
it was a recent addition.

Hi,
I'm trying to play CD's through the CDplayer plugin from my qnap-ts119.
The plugin is shown, but when I try to open the menu in Extra, I get the
error that cdrom is not known.
cdrecord -scanbus shows the device, but there is no /dev/cdrom (or
/dev/dvd or whatever) associated with the device.
Okay, thanks. I'm using 7.3.3. Glad I kept the old favorite hanging
around. Just have to hope the Been don't turn the old streams off.

You may find this works with 7.4 and not 7.3 servers. Though I would be
interesed in feedback from people on how well this works. The issue is
that iplayer uses dynamic urls so we can't just store the url in
favorites. 7.4 has the added complexity that favorites and preset
buttons are now diffe

Ha..that worked although with some issues.
I don't seem to be able to get 'My Apps' to show up on the web
interface and so can not control the feed from the Web.
Also there seems to be many options to get past before getting the
option for the stream, way more than with iPlayer.
However I've got
For alarms it might be better to use the WMA stream URL.

Hi,
If I add a favorite for the Live Radio 4 stream from the Internet Radio
menu the favorite works for a while but some later fails until I create
a new favorite. Means I cannot use it for the alarm clock. Does anyone
else see this?

Why do you not use the WMA streams to listen to live streams ? Since
June, all the national BBC streams are available in WMA . They used to
be in More Radio but now in 7.4 you need to install the URLs from App
