Sorry I am replying to myself.
I realized the English in pkg/DESCR is horrible. I wonder how it could
be so bad since I got it from the author's website.
Anyway I fixed it after someone pointed out the problem in a personal
mail. It now reads better.

is there a way to do a "make extract" without checking
dependencies?
i think this is good just for looking at the source for
a given package for one reason or another. i am often without
net access (but already have the package src in "distfiles")
and would like to just really "extract"

This patch helps to remove startup-notification (+gconf/ORBit)
dependency from net/pidgin.
So I added a new flavor to Makefile.
This should make pidgin less bloated.
