I managed to update the SBR firmware to 7.5. Therefore I've setup a SBS
7.5 on my notebook and connected the SBR to it. After the update I
switched the connection back to my SBS 7.4. So far no compatibility
issues detected.

It *is* in the FW, the 7.5 FW, and it does resize

Or rather the artwork resizing function shouldn't be controlled by the knob at
all. It feels unexpected and laggy to me. i.e. a slow rotation of knob does
nothing; a fast rotation of the knob changes the artwork size but feels slo

Yes, it works on 7.5

I believe that's true. I haven't run V7.5 against my Radio, but I've
played with SqueezePlay v7.5 and it seems to work there when emulating a
Radio.
Another option is to use Erland's Custom Clock applet, where you can
create a custom "now playing" screen. I am using a Custom Clock screen

Are you saying that the SB Radio big knob will change the artwork size
in FW 7.5? I have just tried it in 7.4.2 when playing last.fm. I
twiddled the knob one way and the

That's all I did, download & install SBS 7.5 on my PC, connect player
to 7.5, update FW.
But two cautions:

How did you install the 7.5 FW on your radio. If I select update, it
tells me, that it's up2date.

You are indeed correct! :)
My Radio has the 7.5 FW so when it connects to my SBS 7.4.1 it does
allow knob = art resize.

Its not implemented in 7.4.1.
Just tested 7.4.2 - its not working there so you would need to upgrade
to 7.5. beta to try it out.

Tried everything but nothing happens. Maybe it's depending on the
firmware. SBR is running on 7.4.1 r7915 hardware version 5. Or plugin
may prevent the knob of performing the default action.
OK - so now I don't know what is genuine advice and what is double

Try spinning the knob a little faster, individual *clicks* won't resize
the art.

The Big Knob (tm) on the Radio should only be used for navigation.
The Big Knob on the boom should only be used for navigation.
Both have separate volume controls. Ok, the Radio is a more logical
Small Knob (tm), but the Boom's push button volume control is fine too.

I assume you mean the Radio big
Ah..that explains it.
It would be nice to have, as quite often the artwork looks rubbish as
it's too big for the screen.
When is 7.5 scheduled for general release?

I can't find it anywhere and when I turn the knob whilst a track is
playing - nothing happens to the artwork size

Yeah, I can understand that. Oddly I like the current default knob
features on both units, but

And to complete my dislike of player knobs, I've just discovered that the
functionality of the Transporter knob is now broken. If I am playing a track,
and leave the player untouched for 30 secs for the MIS screensaver to display,
and then try to rotate the knob to see the next song in the play
It does feel laggy, but I use and like the knob = art resize for several
reasons:
- some album/logo colors can make artist & song text difficult to
read
- some station logo's are quite small

be used solely to navigate and control the player.
