Aloha Wrenches,
I'm looking for as many as six 100 kW @ 480VAC inverters to replace as many
Xantrex GT100s.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also (now please don't laugh), does
anyone know of any electro wizard or wizardess who's repairing GT boards?

Aloha all,
For those of you, like me, who are Tesla Certified Installers, I’m curious
as to 1) how well you feel you’re being adequately supplied with Powerwalls
and 2) whether any of you have installed their new “back up switch”?
Thanks,
marco

Hey Mac,

Does that go for not using Tigo with the SMA Core inverter as well?

Just out of curiosity, does Blue Planet allow for the placement of their
Blue Ion battery in residential living spaces?

As I far as I know in the grid-tie residential storage market, Tesla
Powerwalls have dominated, especially in the two largest markets of
California and Hawaii. (Full disclosure: I'm a Tesla Certified Installer.)
To my knowledge, I've never seen an example of one torching. In fact,
Tesla, to their
Aloha all,
With LG exiting the solar PV space I'm wondering
if their LG Chem affiliate is getting out of the residential battery
storage space (their RESU line) as well.
Anyone know anything about this?

Aloha all,
I’m going to pipe up here regarding Tesla. I’ve been in the solar field since
1978, am a supervising electrician as well as the RME with the electrical
contracting license.
My company has been a Tesla certified installer since 2018 here in Hawaii and

Aloha,
I’m in search of SolarEdge Optimizers.

Aloha from Hilo,
Have any of you taken the dive with SolarEdge and their storage products?
I remember seeing their impressive display with their new storage at the
last pre-pandemic solar confab in Salt Lake City in September 2019 and
haven't seen much since,

Aloha all,
Was looking over the new IQ8 line-up. And couldn't find a model that's
compatible with 96-cell mods (and the associated higher Vmp).
Is there an IQ8 model that's a good match for 96-celled mods? Or is that
model exclusive to the deal Enphase has with SunPower to provide micros for

Aloha all,
I'm on the hunt for either Power One or ABB (which purchased Power One)
300HV (300-watt high voltage) micro inverters.
Please contact me off-list if you have any or can provide any leads.

Max rating of the Gateway2 is 200A.
Regarding a generator input, you're correct, there's no means that I'm
aware of to integrate a backup generator with the Tesla equipment that
would interact with the solar and storage.

So why wouldn’t any particular PV module qualify as “solar electric

Aloha all,
For those of us solar peeps who have installed positive grounded SunPower
mods years ago that require grounding in order to perform properly, I/we
have been impatiently waiting for SunPower or *someone* to offer a device
(see attached) to allow for the pairing of positively ground
Over the past year there's been a dramatic changing of the guard at
SunPower. Pretty much all the top people have left, from the CEO on down.
And they've made interesting choices, including to completely exit the DC
mods business selling only their AC Equinox products.
The SunPower of old is no
Aloha amigos y amigas,
Those of you who have been SunPower dealers over the years know that the
early style SPR mods required a positive grounding in order to operate
properly as far as produce max power. As in, without being positively
grounded, a surface polarization occurs which has a
Hey Jay,
I've been doing PV on the Big Island since 2000.
15 kW STC DC on 7.6 kW AC is ridiculous and not atypical typical of
Sunrun's crank-out-the-design-by-some-computer-program approach. When said
program calculates a 120 percent offset, does that factor in power output
clipping? I think
Aloha all,
Have any of you come across any articles or white papers on how PV systems

and solar flares?

Does anyone know of a module manufacturer who does NOT have a warranty
exclusion when it comes to placing modules in the vicinity of the ocean and
