I have one quick suggestion. Do you know how much boost its running when you put your foot in it? I see you said it pings under heavy load. It could be that your wastegate solenoid is sticking and not operating the wastegate actuator and hitting overboost. I was having the same problem and

dont forget to check and change your rubber fuel lines at the firewall that feed the fuel rail feed, return, and on Tls up to 87 the 3/4" bypass loop to the pressure regulator. if they are original and would be cracking by now you should replace them with new fuel injection rated fuel line rated

Given how imprecise the stock gauges are, and how often the stock senders fail, do yourself a favor and temporarily install a proper (read:accurate) mechanical gauge on the engine. Then replace the sender/switch What are you running for oil? Most break ins should be run on good non-synthetic oil
