Thanks, Richard. Now I've applied the background it works fine and it's
only this single tiddler that presented a problem. Probably not worth
anyone's time unless they have a particular use case, although I'll see if
anything comes up.

Just to add that I think it should be possible to achieve what you want but
it's non-trivial (certainly for me). What we would need to do (i think) is
add widget-messages around the links which open the tiddlers in your wiki
so that opening one hides the sidebar and opening the table-ti
I've just selected a background color to the table which removes the
transparency from the cells over the sidebar so they are more legible. Not
very elegant but it does the job!
