No, the associations are not automatically updated from UVBasic,
though if you are updating via UVSQL I think they are (haven't tried
it).
Why define the associations? Well, other than "because it's the Right
Thing To Do," association definitions are used by UniODBC for dynamic
norm
also specify whether the field is multi-valued or
multi-subvalued.
