I have Ubuntu 12.10 with gnome-core, evolution, skype. The machine is
mostly doing nothing; I use it mainly as a base for ssh to other boxes.
Over a period of 3-4 days it gradually eats up swap space until it

I am connecting to ldap addressbooks on port 389, with no encryption.
The addressbooks work OK on my desktop at work.
From my laptop at home using wifi I keep getting error 0x32 -
insufficient access. Logout/login does not cure the problem. Reboot

keyring and starting again. It is conceivable that the keyring became
corruupt, but the password has not changed in yonks, so something is

recent update although it appears in the 'hardware' tab of the cound
control it no longer show in the 'input' or 'output' tabs.

Before anything, I have to admit I have no coding experience, so this

We saw today the same error on our linux boxes after a takeover has been
executed on the netapp heads.
All mountpoints we're visible as /mountpoint (deleted) in /proc/mounts
- however the mountpoints were still usable but couldn't be unmounted
without the /etc/mtab workaround (add \040(deleted)
Same symptoms here on 13.04. I have the same graphics card (GTX 660).
Don't have time to enter any terminal command, the system freezes :

startup applications. Today I turned my computer on and Unity 2D Panel

I executed apt-get install unity-2d-common, and it install successfully.
I typed in unity-2d-panel and I now have my panel back. Thanks! Just so
you know when I typed that in I got
unity-2d-panel: [DEBUG] Scanning panel plugin directory
/usr/lib/unity-2d/plugins/panel
unity-2d-panel: [DEBUG]
I suppose it was but as you can tell it must have been removed or damaged
during an update. To fix should I perform
apt-get install unity-2d-common?

I could over and over recreate this kernel panic.
The workaround from #4 (--no-log) was each time necessary to bypass the bug and
boot.

/var/log/upstart/ directory exists.
