Title:
gs can't render some fonts.
Hmm, ok, it sounded too similiar.
Another workaround was to user ps2ps with the example file
ps2ps example.ps fix.ps
evince fix.ps
It can be shown with evince but also I get many lines of
GPL Ghostscript 9.05: Error: Font Renderer Plugin ( FreeType ) return code = -1
with gs fix.ps works

after upgrading from 10.04 to 12.04 I have lots of old kernels in my
/boot partition. They are also listed in /boot/grub/grub.cfg. But they
are not shown as installed in the package database.
Currently I don't know if that is my fault, I just recognized that.

An upgrade of 12.04 from CD desktop edition removes all nfs mount options from
/etc/fstab
/etc/auto.direct is also removed
Also my setup for ldap is gone.
I had to create a local user during the upgrade process.
At least there should be a hint that this happens.

ok, i have some 9.04 systems where it still happens and some which do continue
to reboot after some minutes.
I have not checked 10.04 yet.
How can I help to track this bug down? I have no idea how I can use the
common reporting tools for this case.
cheers

On all of our quadcore amd64 systems I get the same result for loading a
digital signed pdf file.
We run 9.04.
model name : AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 945 Processor
MemTotal : 8078920 kB
Some older Systems based on e.g. AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 175 or AMD
Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core
Thanks for this report. Now I know how I can get it working on several of our
boxes.
I have recognized that they can't open complex forms.
I must note that I have a small amount of boxes too which also works
with that file in place.
