Is this going to be marked as declined for Lucid, carried forward to
Natty?
I've seen loads of complaints about the move, and no one thanking anyone
for it. At least carrying it forward would show it's still on someone's
radar. Otherwise close it and mark as won't fix.

Ok.. found some more info from the Kernel Team specs for Natty:

They have a general policy to build it in because, it's hard to do in
userspace. No idea what that means, or why no other distro has
difficulty with building

Interesting. Removing the ability to delete sounds like a safe way to
ensure this doesn't happen again. Or pehaps a name change? Menu editor
seems be misleading people into thinking they are only editing the
menu.
Speaking with someone on irc they said that .local has lots of stuff in

I've noticed this. My MS Office 2003 links are gone. The good news is
it's an easily avoidable error; Uncheck to remove, don't delete.

This bug continues to affect Jaunty, as of March 31, 2009.
With all due respect to Sebastian, the About me app, which is
displayed by default to all users who install Ubuntu Jaunty, as opposed
to control center, which is not, does not function AT ALL without
evolution-data-server (EDS) installed.
Ps. To sebastian, the problem isn't that when installing, or upon a
default install the About me package fails to work as expected. The
problem os that when removing EDS the user is not warned that About me
will break.
I suppose we might say the user is not warned that Control Center will
break,
Dear Sebastien,
I won't reopen this bug again, since I've fixed it and know enough not
to make the same mistake twice. But I think you're making a mistake.
