Disabling a wireless devices in the BIOS solved the problem. System

After finally giving in and installing Windows, I discovered that this
was caused by a motherboard fault. The fault is now cleared and sound
works correctly (Hooray!).

I am affected by the same bug. I use by no means new or exotic hardware.
It is an ASUS P4P800SE Mainboard with an Intel 865PE Chipset. I have no
problems booting kernel 2.6.19-7 and i never had this kind of problem

Okay I updated to the latest Beryl version (0.1..1) yesterday and
the problem is gone / everything works fine. just a few firefox crashes,
but not more anything as critical as a systemwide frozen computer.

ok, found the solution. this isn't really a bug in k3b. i was writing to
a fat32 partition. the image creation didn't complete because of the 4GB
limit on fat32 files.
however, there is a bug in the fact that k3b crashes madly instead of
giving an intelligible report on the problem. compare its
bug confirmed. previous fix did not help.

the latest version, I recently downloaded the Feisty Fawn herd 3 CD and
tried using it as a Live CD just to test and not to install, and I could

developers at Sun Microsystems (and so they have the copyright). I don't
know anything about an MS Orca,but I don't think it's a problem. You
cannot copyright names, just trademark them.
