I have the same problem with libpam-unix2 1.25-1.1 and gnome-screensaver
2.17.7-0ubuntu2.
The problem is exactly as described in Debian #295526 above: gnome-
screensaver drops any privileges it has by the time it calls into PAM,
but pam_unix2 needs to read the hash from the shadow file.

I installed the ubuntu amd64 6.10 and the ubuntu i368 6.10, the i368
boot live cd mode fine but after install and reboot both versions said
tty can't start job control, several hard drive errors came first but it
stopped on tty can't start job control. To reproduce it I'd att
xchat 2.6.6
will try to re-produce the error now and will send backtrace.

I think it has soemthing to do with jmicron
i turned it off in the bios and now it boots
i need it though for my ide dvd-rom

I am running on feisty, and the following:
dpkg --force-depends --purge fontconfig-config
rm -rf /etc/fonts
apt-get -f install fontconfig-config
rm -rf $HOME/.font*
did not fix the problem for me.

man nmzmail says "You can manually update your index periodically or via
a cronjob...". I think it is misleading: you _must_ update the index
frequently, else search results will omit recently received email.

Firefox has been intermittently crashing when posting a reply to a
message on the AnandTech forums (http://forums.anandtech.com). I posted
a few messages earlier today without issue but just replied to another
topic and Firefox crashed.

Note that the Samsung (and cups-pdf) output is correct: only the Epson
shows the problem. Also, the problem is not evident on the Epson with
Turboprint driver.
