Try adding the following line to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:

And then reboot. If that does not help, extend the line as follows:
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack probe_mask=1
And reboot again.

I have an intel 965, X3100.
Synaptic Claims intel xorg installed, but glxinfo shows that I am with mesa.
If I try to change it, even with Screen and Graphics, It comes back to mesa.
That's the problem users with laptops with X3100 integrated have.

I don't have this problem using wxPython 2.6, but it may be a 2.8
problem. Could you please check which versions you have:

I just tried it with a clean install of Kubuntu Hardy, beta1, kde3.
fully updated as of today.
I ran konqueror, went to
located pdf, deleted all program associations, clicked on a pdf file to open
it, picked kpdf out of the list and checked "Remember application
association..."
kpdf opened as
Found the attached by doing "sudo killall gnome-power-manager" as well
as "gnome-power-manager --no-daemon --verbose 1& > ~/gpm.txt"

Just installed Hardy Heron BETA. I'm able to hear sound through my Dell Vostro
1400 laptop in-built speakers right away after installation. But when i
connected headphone, I didn't hear sound through the headphone (not through
speakers too).
Installed linux-backports-modu
using gksu gnome-system-monitor it's works, because root have privileges to
change any priority, but gksu gnome-system-monitor shows only processes from
from the user that started gnome-system-monitor, so it shows only processes
from root, and not processes from my user, like firefox.
