I have a setup with a G550 that has one anlogue and one DVI (using a
converter to analogue) connected to two Hansol 900P CRT monitors running
1600x1200 on both screens.
I see the same behaviour described here using Linux Mint Elyssa and I
use the log out/log in trick to get both monitors working.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Needs-packaging is only for new upstream releases which
are not in the current development release (intrepid) and for packages
which are not in Ubuntu. If you want a newer version in a stable release
(e.g. hardy) an

At 2008-08-24 I report I have the same issue.
I have installed the following packages: samba, smbfs, nfs-common
(1.1.1.2-2ubuntu2.1), and still getting: "mount error 13 = Permission denied"
when I issue the command: mount -t cifs (or smbfs) //hostname/sharename
/home/ubuntu/folder -o userna
I also have the same problem with the RTL8199 (aka 8187SE) wifi nic and
RTL8101E...
I have no chance, my MSI Wind both has a 8101E and a 8187SE, both with the
multicast problem :(
I really hope it will be fixed soon...

It would be useful to have a log file from the crash. Can you reproduce
the crash on shutdown, then start your computer again and attach the
file /var/log/kern.log. If I am right, this file contains all the logs
from the last 24 hours and after the crash the log is hopefully written
to disk.

I have not had recompile the nvidia proprietary drivers when I did
kernel upgrades using apt-get update/upgrade in the past.
I installed module-assistant and tried what you said from the 2.6.24-21
kernel. The source compile failed.
I currently have the 2.6.24-19, 2.6.24.20, and 2.6.24-21

I think one could argue that as courier-authlib is meant to be used by
