doesn't start anymore. LightDM shows up, and I'm able to log in, but

Why did you set this bug to FIx released? The bug isn't fixed and it
isn't released. I've checked indicator-weather source and changelogs and
there is nothing documented about fixing this. I'm using 12.10 with
indicator-weather 12.07.30-0ubuntu1. This behaviour started when Google
happended to me when another user was logged in, and when switching to
tty8 (the other user's session) the blinking stopped, so i switched over
each tty and also in tty7 the blinking stopped. it crashed about 20
seconds afterward, though :/

because the older version does not support recent kernels.

I was experiencing the same issue with the cx23885 driver not loading
with the 3.5.0-17 kernel. I even compiled the latest v4l-dvb modules
but to no avail. I downloaded and installed the latest upstream kernel
3.6.2, and the cx23885 driver loaded properly and does work.

Had a blank desktop, as above described. managed to fix it by doing
this;
sudo apt-get remove fglrx
sudo reboot
Now its all back to normal again (although i may not have optimal gfx
drivers)

you may need to install it manually for Kubuntu.
