Steps to reproduce:
1. Have Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS installed as guest for VirtualBox 5.1.38 host.
2. Install full HWE to Ubuntu
3. Install `virtualbox-guest-x11-hwe` package
4. Setup *Shared Clipboard* and *Drag and Drop* as *Bidirectional* for both
guest and host
Expected resul
Ubuntu 18.04.2 Gnome
had the problem described above, followed #23 and now my Xserver doesn't work
anymore. I am stuck at a terminal.

Hello,
I have my ubuntu desktop set to boot text only mode.
it seems a removable hard drive was pplugged into my machine some time ago.
On every boot the boot takes a minute and a half to search to see if that drive
is plugged in.

I've installed plymouth 0.9.3-1ubuntu10.1 from the cosmic-proposed
repository and I now have the Xubuntu boot splash screen back and no
longer experience a crash after logging in.
