1) create a new starter by alt+rightclick on gnome panel and selecting "add to
panel" from menu and "custom app starter"
2) fill out form (name, command, ...), all is saved after clicking "ready"

Looks to me that these are not upstream, yet?
At least I couldn't find them in 'linux-next'.
We actually would need to have them upstream first, before we can pick them up.
