I wanted to open this while my PC was still in an "upgraded" state, but
I just did a clean install of 17.10 with today's daily image and the
problem persists as reported. I can even reproduce it booting off the
the install media and clicking the Try Ubuntu option. Any advice on
narrowing it down

The failure to auto repeat happens in all terminal apps I've tried in
Artful. If I open a virtual console, it looks like a phantom is typing
^@ about once per second. This prevents successfully typing a password,
and is probably what is breaking autorepeat in the GUI

apt-get upgrade reported that gdb was up to date. However, removing and
re-installing gdb with apt-get got it working again.
The gdb packaging? The upgrade procedure?
I have a copy of the systems with bad gdb instances if anyone would like
to take this on.

Yes I've experienced the same kind of jitter. The volume level is pretty
decent for me, but not the streaming performance. I basically need to be
doing nothing else on my laptop for it to stream without jittering.

Appears to be fixed entirely now. I was running Ubuntu 12.04 when I
first encountered the bug, and if memory serves it was fixed at least a

@Robin: yeah after a reboot or after simply turning the headphones on
and off again, pairing doesn't work. I need to use the Bose Connect app
on my phone to delete the remembered pairing, delete it from Ubuntu, and
add a new pairing from the app and pair from Ubuntu. Only then does it
work.

sessions on Ubuntu Touch. It utilizes pulseaudio for the sound server.
Any sounds coming from the web browser or web apps do not use media-hub.
Ringtone and notification sounds all go through media-hub for playback.

Looks like this was an oops on my part - I got it pointed out for me
that piping from /dev/zero to a filehandle results in a sparse file,
which I did not understand and which explains the lack of impact from
*that*.

Have you tried playing any of these videos in mediaplayer-app? How about
the inline dash video player in the video scope? Any different results
there?
You are correct in that we can only play one video at a time at the
moment due to how things are wired up with hardware video acceleration.

then since qtubuntu-media is required for the Unity8 apps to utilize
media-hub. Without qtubuntu-media installed, the apps will use the
default gstreamer-based plugin in QtMultimedia that should utilize the
pulsesink in
