Hello Brian, no, it is not solved. It was a hardware issue with Ubuntu. The hardware was flawless, but had, for some reason i never understood, problems with Ubuntu. So we switched the hardware and all is fine since then. Not to mention that the hardware is now used on SuSE system without any

Some more information: I have now deleted the via-agp.ko module; agp is now of course disabled. Gnome now still freezes after about 1 minute, but differently: applets are still working (showing activity) , I can move the mouse, but I cannot right or left click - there are no actions to my mouse

I just want to add, that I know that agp in working with the 2.6.17 kernel because: 1. cat /proc/drivers/nvidia/agp/status is showing that agp is enabled at 8x (it is disabled with the 2.6.15 kernel) and 2. I get 12000-13000 fps with glxgears (5000 fps with the 2.6.15 kernel) The 2.6.17 kernel
