I have a same problem on lucid and nvidia card. I use actually nvidia with
proprietary graphics drivers.
AMD Athlon +3500
Nvidia 6600 TD Silencer
it appear in 32 and 64 bits version
i try use firefox with and without flash (all version)
i try nvidia drivers : nouveau / proprietary / run
i clean
cat /usr/bin/oocalc
#!/bin/sh
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice -calc "$@"
if i use
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice -calc
not work
if i use
oosplash.bin -calc
it return : oosplash.bin: command not found
oosplash.bin is called at end soffice
at this time i use /usr/lib/openoffi
I confirm too
it's work with full path

I don't see that ..
In french : "Ubuntu Software Center" is "Logithèque Ubuntu"
And i follow on the same way :
Applications -> Logithèque Ubuntu :: 'Obtenir des logiciels libres' ->

i stop apparmor sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor stop
i edit /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysql and change the path to /var/bin/mysql (my

and sudo /etc/init.d/
