Unfortunately, I faced the problem again after the screen was locked a
longer time (1 hour approximately). Firstly, when I try to unlock and
return to my session, I takes very long (about half a minute) until the
popup window to enter my password appears. After having typed the
password, I takes
I'm also affected by this bug, but it only appears after locking and
unlocking the screen. When booting the system from scratch, everything
works smoothly. I'm using a GeForce 6600 GT with current nvidia drivers
and Ubuntu 11.04.

Same issue as frenzie. nvidia-glx-new-1.0.9755+2.6.20.5-16.28 fails on
my system, whereas version -15.20 from Alberto Milone works fine. Will
there be a fix for this problem soon?

Hey cool, that works fine on my system, too. I deactivated powernowd and
restarted my PC three times without any problems. The service remains
deactivated after a restart, so I suppose the issue to be fixed. As I'm
running Ubuntu on a desktop PC, I don't need CPU scaling at all.

This is just an edit to my upper message: I'm not using kernel 2.6.17-10

I recently installed Edgy on my AMD64 machine with kernel
2.6.17-10-generic and I'm observing the same problems as mentioned
above. Shutdown works properly, but reboot doesn't. I tried hundreds of
boot parameters concerning ACPI (acpi=off, acpi=force, noapic, nolapic,
...) with no success.
