Same problem here. I had nm-applet icon showing up just fine on 17.04.
After upgrading to 17.10 it disappeared, but I was able to get it back
by using MATE Tweak to revert to a saved panel layout. Now, after

I am using xfce + lxdm(autologin), I need a function is re-login the X, but
lxdm logout without restart X, so I made a script:

this script can restart X, and autologin again, but when I test this
I want files two packages - lxdm and xfce4-notifyd, but I only find the
lxdm package.

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 5000, same problem. Media keys -
play/pause, for example - act like a left mouse click and the mouse will
no longer function. Quickest fix is pulling the usb that drives the
keyboard and mouse and re-inserting. No luck with the aubergine package
fix, maybe I didn't

Network Tools worked perfectly, including ping, in 9.04. This is not a

I also see the hesitation. I tried to listen to a audio download from

This how to with open-vm-tools worked flawlessly btw, as a workaround
while we are waiting for official packages. I substituted the latest
open-vm package (pen-vm-tools-2008.07.01-102166), but other than that it
works pretty much word-for-word. It is for VM-fusion, but worked under
VMWare
Same issue here, cannot upgrade a machine without an installed desktop
meta-package. You can workaround by using apt-cdrom then doing the
network upgrade, but it would be nice to upgrade via the cd only then
get the updates off the net that were needed.
